SUMMARY
 |
Even
in a world populated entirely by mechanical beings Rodney
Copperbottom is considered a genius inventor. Rodney
dreams of two things, making the world a better place
and meeting his idol, the master inventor Bigweld. On
his journey he encounters Cappy, a beautiful executive
`bot with whom Rodney is instantly smitten, the nefarious
corporate tyrant Ratchet who locks horns with Rodney,
and a group of misfit `bots known as the Rusties, led
by Fender and Piper Pinwheeler.
Beyond
the scope, freshness and vibrancy of an incredible world
populated solely by mechanical beings, Wedge and his
team are creating memorable robots, each with "his"
/ "her" own distinct personality. The result
is a timeless tale that pushes the boundaries of animation,
while introducing characters rich with whimsy, heart
and soul.

EXTRA
INFO
 |
"We
took the script around to Robin, and he clamped onto the
part of Fender," says Wedge, who allowed Robin lots
of room for verbal doodling. "You just put the script
in front of him, close the door and hope."
Robin
says Fender, a walking junkyard of found objects, is
"a self-made man - made from others. He is trying
to hold it together, literally."
"Fender" is a robot whose head, arms and legs
fall off at the most inopportune moments.

QUOTES
 |
fender
I tell ya, the things that fall off of me... it's
embarrassing!
fender
I ran all this way in cha-cha heels...
fender
If I seem to be getting smaller, it's because... I'm
running!
rodney
There should be an angry mob out there. [angry
mob runs past the window]
fender
Wow! That was great, psychic friend! Now say, "Money
should be falling from the sky"? Say it!
rodney
Why is she called Aunt Fanny?
fender
Well, we couldn't call her Aunt Booty.
rodney
When was the last time you got oiled?
fender
Yeah, I can't really answer that in front of my kid
sister.
aunt fanny
Where's your friend, dear?
fender
He's been rear-ended.
fender
Good luck in the big city. If you can make it here,
you can make it anywhere, and if you can't, join the
club.
fender
How many times have I told you not to talk to strange
men?
piper
I talk to you, and you're stranger than him.
fender
My name used to be Bumper, but I had to change it
when my family moved into the country.
crank
Well there goes our happy ending.
fender
Are you crazy? It's a junction of jazz and funk...
called junk.
rodney
Why do you have two noses?
fender
One's for showin', one's for blowin'.
