Robin Backs New Bill For U.S. Soldiers' Right To Free
College Education (June
24)
Robin has enlisted
his support for new legislation, which will ensure
U.S. soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan
have their university tuition paid in full because
the sacrifices they've made for their country have
not been compensated fairly.
The proposed bill would cost the U.S. government $4
billion annually - a total that pales in comparison
to the weekly cost of the American occupation in Iraq.
Robin says, "It's a payback for them. It's all-access
to the American Dream. We in no way have given the
vets their due. These guys and gals have sacrificed
so much. It's the least we can do."

The Prince of Providence (June
14)

As most
of you all have seen, Robin has done quite a number
of shows this month and has several more coming up.
Most of the shows are to prepare for the Vegas show
on May 25th, but on April 25th
he'll be participating at an event benefitting Oak
Hill School, the Ryder Foundation and the ASHA Academy.
Here's the information provided by "Comedy for
Kids SF":
Join the legendary Dana Carvey, Robin Williams,
and friends for a five-star evening of food, wine,
and wit for a worthy cause benefiting Oak Hill School,
the Ryder Foundation and the ASHA Academy. Enjoy a VIP cocktail reception followed by
an intimate gourmet dinner prepared by Bay Area celebrity
chefs. Laugh out loud at a private stand-up comedy
show featuring Dana Carvey and friends. Meet the talent
at an exclusive after-party with divine desserts and
drinks, and groove to the beat of the Back Burner
Blues Band. Tickets
for this event are $200 and up.
Here's a list of Robin's other upcoming shows at
either Bimbo's or the Throckmorton Theatre (as of
April 22nd):
April 22 - Bimbo's - sold out
April 24 - Bimbo's - sold out
April 28 - Bimbo's - sold out
April 30 - Throckmorton - Ticket
sale starts April 23, 2008 @ noon ONLY at Ticketweb
Tickets for Robin's previous Throckmorton show on
April 21 were sold out within seconds. Here's a note
from Throckmorton Theatre about that: The Robin Williams tickets sold out within seconds
on Ticketweb. This resulted in many happy ticket holders,
but many more frustrated patrons who have supported
the 142 Throckmorton Theatre over the years. We wish
we had more space and we wish we had the potential
for a process to include everyone. We believed that
Ticketweb was far more capable of handling the intense
interest in the Robin Williams show than our two phone
lines at the Theatre. We are honored that Robin wants to use the
Theatre to develop his new work and that our community
loves his extraordinary talents.
"Idol Gives Back" (April
07)

show, being co-hosted by Ellen Degeneres and Ryan

the Children's Health Fund.

Dion, Forest Whitaker, Billy Crystal, Dane Cook, Kiefer
Sutherland, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Jennifer
Connolly, Elliott Yamin, Fantasia and Amy Adams join

and during the show, viewers will be able to make
donations via toll-free lines and the Internet.
Marsha filed for divorce (March
26)
Normally
we don't talk about stuff this personal about Robin,
but since the press got word of it, there's no way
of hiding from it.
Please respect the privacy of all parties involved.
We wish Robin, Marsha, Zelda and Cody all the best
and strength they need.
Guest Appearance on Law and Order: SVU (March
18) source:
Variety *edit - march
20*
Robin
Williams has signed on to guest star in the upcoming
200th episode of "Law & Order: SVU."
Robin will play an engineer whose life has gone off
track following a tragedy. Events lead him to start
questioning authortity, and
encouraging others to do the same.
Robin hasn't done much series TV since his starmaking
perf in "Mork
& Mindy." Most memorably, he guest starred
on NBC's late "Homicide:
Life on the Street," a turn that led him
to an Emmy nomination.
"SVU" exec producer Neal Baer said the
Williams seg boasts a "powerful and complex"
storyline. Baer and "SVU" co-exec producer
Amanda Green wrote the script.
The episode will air on April
29, 2008. *edit* Filming starts
this months.
RWLive! in Las Vegas (March
12)
It's
been quiet for a while, but yesterday we finally received
an update again!
The main news was received without too many details
yet, so please check the site every once in a while
for changes/updates. Ticket sales and prices are still
unknown, but the following, the most important thing
has been confirmed:
Robin will return to Las Vegas and do a one-man show
at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Sunday
May 25th, 2008.
Normally he does some shows at smaller venues to prepare
for a show as big as these Vegas shows, so please
stay tuned, as we expect the same thing to happen
here.
For
those who don't know what this is all about, please
visit this
page(comingsoon.net)
and watch all 4 clips. It's pretty hilarious. Soon
after the release of the "I'm f*ing Matt Damon"
clip, Jimmy Kimmel announced he'd hit Silverman back
with a clip called "I'm f*ing Ben Afleck and
that Robin, Don Cheadle, Ashlee Simpson, Cameron Diaz,

Oscar Show 2008 (February
14)
Today
the list of presenters was announced and Robin was
not mentioned, which means this is the first time
in many years he won't appear on stage during this
event.
The good new is that August
Rush is nominated in the category 'Best Song'
and Jamia Simone Nash will perform "Raise
It Up," from the film, with the IMPACT
Repertory Theatre of Harlem, headed by Jamal Joseph,
who shares the song's music and lyric credit with
Charles Mack and Tevin Thomas.
Other nominations in the same category are:
"Happy Working Song"
(Enchanted) with music by Alan Menken (Aladdin)
and lyric by Stephen Schwartz.
"That's How You Know"
(Enchanted) which will be performed by Kristin Chenoweth
(RV) and Marlon Saunders.
"So Close,"
(Enchanted) to be performed by Jon McLaughlin.
"Falling Slowly"
(Once)

Can I do it...till I need glasses on DVD (February
12)
Navarre
Corporation has decided to release this title on DVD
(pre-order).
The release date is set for April
08, 2008.
Can I do it...till I need Glasses is sometimes listed
as Robin's first film, but he originally didn't appear
in it. When the film was shot (this was before Mork
&Mindy), Robin did do some scenes, but those
were not used for the film. When Robin became famous
as Mork, the studio decided to re-edit the film and
re-release it.
Some VHS tapes that are available on the internet
mention Robin as one of the actors, but some VHS tapes
contain the original version without Robin. The information
about the DVD
does mention Robin as one of the actors, but we cannot
confirm this is the re-edited version till we got
our hands on a copy.
Other upcoming DVD releases: - February 14 > Mork
& Mindy Season 2 (region
2) - February 18 > Documentary:
Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project - March 04 > Mrs.
Doubtfire: Behind the Seams edition - March 11/April 1st
> August Rush DVD
/ HD DVD / Blu-ray
Warner
Bros will release August
Rush on DVD on March 11,
2008. There's not a lot of information about
extra features. The Blu-ray version will have some
alternative scenes though.
Favorite Male Star
@ People's Choice Awards (January
09)
Robin
won the People's Choice Award in the category "Favorite
Funny Male Star".
Even though no ceremony was held, Robin had his acceptance
speech already taped on location in Kabul during his
recent USO tour with
Kid Rock and Lewis Black. Robin, who apparently -
and not surprisingly - had lost his voice during the
tour, let Rock and Black do the accepting for him
while he mimed his reaction.
Robin's the first guest on Letterman (December
31) *edited on Jan 01*
Robin
Williams will be David Letterman's first guest upon
the return of his "Late Show" on CBS Wednesday
(jan 02).
The appearance of a Hollywood A-lister who can talk
a mile a minute may be Letterman's way of quickly
trying to draw a distinction between his show and
his late-night rivals, who are without writers and
may also have trouble booking major entertainers as
guests.
*edit* For those who
worry about Robin crossing the picket line...he isn't.
Please read this
article to confirm this.
